Today, SME4Space officialised AED Cluster Portugal’s membership.
SME4SPACE is a non-profit organization whose purpose for existence is to give a coordinated voice to SMEs in the space sector and to facilitate their access to space activities in general and to ESA and EU programs in particular.
Bearing in mind that the Portuguese space ecosystem consists mainly of SMEs, this membership is of paramount importance for the Cluster, says Rui Santos, the General Manager of AED Cluster Portugal:
For some time now, we have been looking for an association that would complement the important work being developed with Eurospace, but with a mission more focused on SMEs. SME4Space was the missing link.
When integrating SME4Space, AED Cluster Portugal starts to contact with a network of members from 25 European countries, consisting of 18 Clusters/Associations and 26 companies that, together, represent more than 800 entities (among which 600 are SMEs, 100 are Universities and Research Centers, 75 are large companies and the rest are other types of entities active in the space sector).
