The first class of the Aerospace Engineering degree counted with Rui Santos, General Manager of AED, and Ricardo Conde, President of Portugal Space.
Last week, Rui Santos, Managing Director of AED Cluster Portugal, was present in the inauguration of the Aerospace Engineering degree that University of Aveiro (UA) is launching this year and presented the Portuguese Aeronautics, Space and Defence Cluster to the future engineers.
UA describes this degree as “combining basic and broad-spectrum sciences at the specialty science level to train engineers at the top level, capable of performing planning and design functions in the fields of Aerospace Systems”.
Portuguese media SIC was present and made a TV news piece including an interview with Rui Santos and Ricardo Conde, President of the Portuguese Space Agency (Portugal Space). You can check it here – content available only in Portuguese.
Following this presentation, Rui Santos visited the facilities of IT – Instituto de Telecomunicações, entity that provides high tech services in the telecommunications field and works in close cooperation with University of Aveiro.
For the Cluster, this was a great opportunity to deepen the understanding of two Cluster members working in key areas of activity – training, research and innovation – and to witness “in-person” the growth of the Aerospace domain in the city of Aveiro.
