In an interview with a national radio station, Mr. José Neves (AEDCP's President of the Board of Directors) spoke about the impact of the pandemic on the sector, the challenges ahead and their possible solutions.
This Saturday, 23th May, AED Cluster Portugal’s President of the Board of Directors, Mr. José Neves, was interviewed by TSF, a national radio station, for their program: “Negócios em Português” (“Business in Portuguese”).
The subject of the interview was the impact of the pandemic COVID-19 in the Aeronautics sector, which has been one of the most affected due to the cuts in orders, production stops and cash flow problems that companies working in this sector have been facing.
Despite the difficult and limiting current context, José Neves identifies an opportunity for European re-industrialization and praises the capabilities of the Portuguese ecosystem, addressing the possible solutions that can be found in order to enable the national market continuous development and growth and to make sure Portugal stays at the forefront in this phase of innovation:
“As Portugal is a very attractive sector in the aerospace market, this is also an opportunity that we are following carefully. Our associates have collaborated and invested more and more in projects related to the environmental sustainability of the industry and its digitalization.”
