The uncertainties that still hover around the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic were the reason that led the organization of the Paris Air Show to cancel the event.
It was expected that the Le Bourget Salon could, in June 2021, be a milestone for the resumption of physical events for the aerospace and defense industries and that it should set the tone for the return to normal business activity in these sectors, which were very affected by the pandemic, but the organization ended up canceling the event.
In an Official Announcement – consult here -, the organization announces that this decision, taken with the GIFAS (French Aerospace Industry Association) Board of Directors, was “inevitable” and “reasonable” given the context of the current health crisis and the number of participants from from all over the world, that the event attracts.
In this statement, the representatives of the organization of the event are disappointed by the decision they had to take and already point to the next edition of the event to be held in June 2023:
“We are obviously disappointed not to be able to hold the 2021 edition of the Paris Air Show. After many months of all trade show activities being suspended throughout the world, the entire international aerospace and defence community was very much looking forward to being able to meet.”, explains Patrick Daher, Chairman of the International Paris Air Show.
“The 2023 edition will be larger than ever, and our teams are already working to ensure its success.”, adds Gilles Fournier, CEO of the International Paris Air Show.
All exhibitors who have advanced payments for booking space for their stands will be 100% refunded. AED Cluster Portugal was preparing a Portuguese participation in the event (with a stand and an extensive national delegation), which is forced to cancel.
