AED Cluster Portugal is organising, in partnership with the Municipality of Oeiras, the 8th edition of the AED Days 2021 event, which will take place between the 28th of September and the 1st of October.

After the success of the previous edition in a 100% digital format, and given the danger of new variants of Coivd-19, the Cluster chose to keep the online format for the AED Days 2021.
This edition will feature a new format, with the event being divided in three different moments:
- TALKS (Conference and Workshops, September 28th, 29th and 30th)
- CONNECT (B2B Meetings, September 29th and 30th)
- CAREERS (HR Forum, October 1st)
Those interested can participate in all three or choose to participate in a single one.
“Our annual event is, without a doubt, a unique opportunity to get in contact with the main national and international players in the Aeronautics, Space and Defence industry. In these four days of event, participants will have the opportunity, in an innovative and dynamic digital platform, to: debate the current and future challenges of the three sectors, in Portugal and in the world; seek business opportunities and partnerships; and establish contact with the main players of the industry”, says Rui Santos, General Manager of AED Cluster Portugal.
In previous editions, the event was attended by officials such as the Minister of National Defence, the Minister of Economy, political officials of the European Commission, as well as companies such as Airbus, Bell, Boeing, Embraer, Leonardo, OGMA, Stelia and many others.
For this year, AED will bring together, once again, all these key stakeholders together with the Portuguese ecosystem of the Aeronautics, Space and Defence sectors, also looking to young engineers and aiming to strengthen the relationship between Academia and Industry.
New to this edition, and the main driver of this new event format, is the CAREERS day, fully dedicated to the employment and training opportunities that exist in these sectors. One of the priorities of the Cluster is the attraction and retention of talent for the Aeronautics, Space and Defence industries, which currently lack qualified resources.
The aim of the Cluster with the CAREERS day is to create an annual moment in which relations between Industry and Academia are stimulated, at a national level, trying to reduce the gap between job offer and demand in these sectors.
