AED Cluster Portugal took part in the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA 2024) with an institutional Portugal stand from 22 to 26 July, as part of the Global Connect project, funded by Compete 2030 and the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).
This participation was carried out in partnership with idD Portugal Defence and welcomed 19 organisations and 46 representatives from the national ecosystem. Among them were Aeromec, aicep Portugal, Alma Design, Ponte de Sôr City Council, CODI, OGMA, PIEP, Sodarca, Trisolaris, Vesam and Kit-Air.
The presence of AED Cluster Portugal at the fair provided an opportunity to engage with various international stakeholders, helping to project the current image and dynamism of the sector.
In the area adjacent to the institutional stand, several other entities were also present, including the Aeronext Programme, AVP, Beyond Vision, CCG, Citeve, Fibrenamics, FLY.PT, Tekever and ISQ.
One of the highlights was Portugal Day at the stand, during which the innovative BVQ 418 drone by Beyond Vision was officially launched and successfully demonstrated live at the fair, detecting a fire in real time and immediately reporting it to the relevant authorities.
In this sense, we can conclude that the Portuguese participation in FIA 2024 was a success on all fronts. Together, we strengthened the position of national companies in the global market, promoting access to international business opportunities and collaboration in technological innovation projects.
At the Farnborough International Airshow 2024, national companies not only established valuable contacts for their international development, but also had the opportunity to interact with and present their products and services directly to key players across the sector.
Events such as these are also an excellent opportunity to explore and broaden horizons, offering insight into the latest trends and demands of the global market.
