The purpose of this external mission, which took place in Montréal, Canada, from February 25 to 27 under the scope of the Global Connect project, co-financed by Compete 2030 and FEDER, was to promote and strengthen dialogue between the Portuguese and Canadian aerospace ecosystems, building on an already long-standing relationship and, more specifically, on the launch in 2024 of a joint R&D funding call between the two countries.
To support this goal, the mission was aligned with the 13th edition of the RDV Forum, which brought together exceptional talent, innovative minds, and influential leaders to explore emerging trends, address current challenges, and seize new opportunities in the aerospace sector.
Held under the theme “Generations of Ideas,” RDV Forum 2025 featured a diverse programme including keynote sessions, project idea pitches, and networking opportunities. This intergenerational event convened dedicated professionals committed to forging strategic partnerships and actively shaping the future of the industry.
This mission was preceded by a webinar held on January 7, which helped anticipate and promote the initiative.
This external mission represents a key milestone in the promotion of the Portuguese aerospace ecosystem, enabling the assessment of capabilities, identification of synergies, and exploration of new avenues for collaboration between Portugal and Canada.
