AED Cluster Portugal attended ILA Berlin, one of Europe’s leading platforms dedicated to Aeronautics, Space and Defence, reinforcing its role in promoting the integration of the national ecosystem into global value chains.
Represented by Rita Moore, Aeronautics Manager, AED spent three working days taking part in debates, institutional discussions and meetings with international companies and stakeholders who are contributing to the development of these strategic sectors. The 2026 edition of ILA Berlin brought together around 110,000 participants, 765 exhibitors from 37 countries and delegations from 60 countries, consolidating its position as a leading event for the industry, institutions, research centres and international decision-makers.
The participation of the AED Cluster Portugal enabled it to closely monitor key issues for the future of the industry, including sustainable aviation, digital transformation, defence technologies, space innovation, technological sovereignty and new models of international cooperation. These areas are particularly relevant to Portugal’s positioning within a European context characterised by the need to strengthen industrial, technological and scientific capabilities.
In this context, the AED also highlights the presence of members at the Portugal Pavilion, organised by idD Portugal Defence, namely Beyond Vision, Critical Software, Hypermetal, Infinite Foundry and the Municipality of Ponte de Sor.
AED’s presence at ILA Berlin forms part of its ongoing efforts to support internationalisation, industrial cooperation and the strengthening of the Portuguese ecosystem’s competitiveness.
