The event would take place in Dubai, between 12 and 16 October, but has been postponed with no new dates settled.
The International Astronautical Congress (IAC) is one of the most internationally renowned events for the space industry. It takes place every year, with a different host country. In 2020, the event would take place in Dubai (October 12th to 16th) but its postponement was announced yesterday.
The organization has not yet given new dates yet, but according to the notice on the official website, it will take place next year:
“Following the growing escalation of the Covid-19 outbreak around the world, MBRSC & IAF are saddened to inform you that the International Astronautical Congress – IAC 2020 in Dubai will not be taking place this year, but will be postponed”
In 2021, the host city will be Paris, but it remains to be seen whether this postponement decision will influence (and how) the normal chain of IACs. For now, there is no information in this regard, and we can expect news soon, according to the official statement:
“MBRSC and IAF and in the process of finalizing the new dates keeping in mind the overall schedule of IACs and will update you within the coming weeks about the new dates”
The event organization announced, today, the dates of postponement for the AIX2020: 12 to 15 April, 2021.
The European Space Agency (ESA) and the Roscosmos Space Corporation decided to postpone, to 2022, the second ExoMars rover launch to the Red Planet.
One of the biggest events in the world, for the aeronautics, space and defence industries, has been canceled. The show will return in 2022.
The Cluster's main event will be held on the 6th and 7th of October, at Taguspark (Oeiras, Lisbon).
